Patience is a virtue they say and something which I sometimes struggle with sometimes.
How about you? Do you feel the same?
I bet you do! Even if it is only every now and again.
I think patience is sometimes overrated. It just depends what you are waiting for, I suppose.
We all want quick results
We all want something to work quickly and show results straight away. Sadly, things do not always happen that way, or when we want them to. I think this is especially true when it comes to sales.
I often know I can help a prospect with the problem they have, but people will buy when they are ready, not when I am ready to sell to them. Which, is entirely understandable. The time may be right for them, they may have too much going on or just not have the funds right now.
It is probably the same in your industry too.
Keeping in touch is important
I often meet people at networking events and get to know them and keep in touch. Many of them, then get in touch many months later and ask for advice or place orders.
Many of them will have received my emails, read my blogs and followed me on social media and I will have followed them too. As I know how important it is to keep in touch.
The time has to be right for them
In time many will get in touch because the time is right for them and they would like my help. They have got to know, like and trust me. Which, is why I make sure they have my details, to make it as easy as possible, to get in touch with me when they are ready.
By having many ways to keep people engaged with content, it does make more work, but it also allows us to stay at the forefront of peoples minds. By having many ways to keep in touch, it makes it far more lightly that prospects will think of me when they are ready to make a purchase, rather than my competitors.
Show them you care
So how about sending your details to your clients, so they will have them in from of them until they are ready to buy. The gift could be something for them to use like a mug or a travel mug, a pen or lip balm which will show them how much you appreciate them and also mean they will have your details for when they are ready to buy.
